Approval Testing - Pass, Fail or Hope?

Short Narrative/Description:

• Approval Testing is an approach to software testing that focuses on capturing and storing the behavior of your application, presenting the changes in behavior and allowing the software development team to react to them. Approval testing can work both in unit testing or functional testing activities.
• Whether we call it "Golden Master Testing", "Characterization Testing", "Snapshot Testing" or "Approval Testing", it better be done right. Ultimately results have to be checked by a human, so how do we achieve the continuous testing/delivery approach where the whole application would be tested and built every night? David will facilitate an exercise using LEGO bricks to explore the concept of Approval Tests.

Speaker Background:

• David Kane brings over 20 years of IT experience in both the in the Commercial and Government sectors. He has been leading and coaching teams through Agile approaches since 2001. He is co-author of the book Software Architecture: Organizational Principles and Patterns, as well as many articles, presentations and workshops on software development.

Reservations: Cost for dinner is $25.00 per person if reservations are made by the deadline (the Monday before the meeting), $30 if otherwise. There is no charge to attend for the presentation only.
