ASQ Section 0511 October 2021 Meeting Announcement
Wednesday, 13 October 2021
Presented by
Mike Coleman
Reliability Engineer, ASQ Section 0511 Membership Chair
Short Narrative/Description:
ASQ Section 0511 is a geographic community that lives intertwined with the network of ASQ Divisions—technical communities specializing in specific quality domains and supporting ASQ Certifications in their domains.
Mike Coleman is an ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) and a member of the Reliability and Risk Division (RDD). In this meeting's Program, he will serve as a link between Section 0511 and some of the ideas and activities that RDD concerns itself with.
This Program is a multimedia experience that includes Mike's slide presentation, the watching of a pre-recorded presentation from RDD, and a discussion of the reviewed concepts.
The Program will consist of the following:
- What a Reliability Engineer does;
- What the ASQ CRE Certification and its Body of Knowledge (BoK) entail;
- The Reliability and Risk Division (RRD), a community of 2,611 members (as of October 2021);
- The training that RRD provides to Reliability Engineers;
- The place of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in Reliability Engineering in general and in the Technical Data Packages specifically; and
- His own interest in the topic.
- What is Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T);
- How GD&T helps Design, Production, Inspection, and the Enterprise;
- How Drawing Previews are conducted;
- Where the technology is headed; and
- What Tec-Ease brings to the table.
- Summarize the concepts we have learned;
- Answer the audience's questions about those concepts, the ASQ CRE Certification, the RRD Division, and his own Reliability Engineering experience.
