October 9, 2024 Section Leadership Committee (SLC) Meeting — Section Elections and Streaming Training
Wednesday, 9 October 2024, 6 — 7:15 pm
In person and online
You are invited to participate in this month's SLC Meeting on October 9, 2024. In addition to the standard Section business, there are two important elements that have an impact on all Section members. The main order of business will be conducting the Section elections for the 2025 SLC. We had our Ranger Outing last Saturday, so there will be no program following the SLC meeting.
Section Elections:
- ASQ requires our Section register all elected positions for CY 2025 by 1 November 2024. Nominations are were due by 1 October 2024 and our elections will be held as part of our 9 October 2024 Section Meeting. With the change in RU awards, SLC participation is one of the largest free RU awards available starting on 2025. Ken is term-limited and the Section needs a Chair for 2025.
- The current slate of candidates is:
- Chair: vacant
- Vice-Chair: vacant
- Treasurer: Connie Broadie
- Vice-Treasurer: Mike Beckner
- Secretary: Jeff Cadel
- Vice-Secretary: vacant
- This slate is currently unopposed and will be elected by acclamation in accordance with Section bylaws; the time period to contest a position has elapsed.
- In accordance with the election announcement, late requests for positions with no candidates will be considered. Please email chair24@asq0511.org to request the Nominating Committee consider your candidacy for an open elected position. You must be a paid member of Section 0511 to qualify.
- For both elected and appointed positions — this Wednesday's SLC meeting is NOT the deadline to participate in the SLC in CY 2025. We have until November 1 to finalize our slate of mandatory positions for next year. Other appointed positions may be filled at any time; however, ASQ has an app that allows for easy upload of the SLC roster that is only open in October. After that, we need to go through Component Relations. So this month's SLC meeting is the most convenient time to establish the elected and appointed SLC, but is not deadline!
Streaming Training:
- We will be setting up to stream from Jeff Parnes's house in order to troubleshoot our processes. If you would like to participate live in the SLC meeting and learn to assist Jeff in streaming setup, please coordinate with Jeffrey M. Parnes in Oak Hill (20171) at webmaster24@asq0511.org. Plan on arriving about 1.5 hours early (~4:30) and staying about 45 minutes after to help breakdown/debrief. This will award RU at 0.1/hour under "Volunteering".
- Dinner will be provided to those attending the Streaming Training. Please review these menus and indicate your choice when you respond that you'll be attending in person. Please contact Jeff if you'll be attending by 2pm Wednesday.
