Project Rolodex to Robot: A deep dive into automating the patient scheduling function at a Home Healthcare Agency

Short Description:

Imagine a regional Home Healthcare company with multiple office locations was on the verge of modernizing from the paper world into an Electronic Medical Record (EMR), however their foundational manual processes were still not standardized, centralized, or [able to be] monitored due to being on paper. This presentation will take you on the journey of how a Home HealthCare agency addressed those issues and was able to leverage automation to further enhance their newly implemented scheduling system which resulted in saving costs, improving efficiency, and most importantly improving patient care and satisfaction.

Speaker Background:

Aneil Nayak is a seasoned Industrial Engineer and Project Manager. He has worked on Process Improvement and Implementation projects in many industries including Manufacturing, Finance, Healthcare, and Government/Public Sector. Aneil currently works as a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) consultant supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in automating forms processing and other business tasks. Aneil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech. He is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) from ASQ, a Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI, and a Certified Scrum Master and Scrum Product Owner from Scrum Alliance.
