For example, breaking down barriers - Early in my treatment, I was being passed off from doctor to dietician to educator, until I instituted leadership and forced communication between them and their sometimes contradictory advice.
In addition, to Deming’s 14 points, his System of Profound Knowledge:
Appreciation for systems (Multi-system chronic disease)
Theory of variation (That’s life!)
Theory of knowledge (How does it all fit together?)
Understanding of psychology (I went through the four stages - denial, anger, resignation, acceptance)
is helpful for building a framework to approach the problem.
