Chief Technology Officer of HUD
Speaker Biography:
- Mr. Day is Chief Technology Officer of HUD which he joined in October of 2009. There he focuses on IT operations, technical reviews of solution architectures for new projects and the re-compete of HUD's primary IT support contract. Prior to that he was Vice President and CTO of ManTech Information Systems and Technology from 2006-2009 with a focus on developing and documenting SOA implementation strategies, knowledge representation technologies such as ontology, taxonomy, semantics, and data mining.
- His prior government service includes 9 years serving simultaneously as Deputy CIO for IT, CTO, and Director of the Office of Technology Operations and Planning at EPA where he was the senior executive for EPA's 1) $188 million Fee for Service IT Shared Services Program, which included the Enterprise IT infrastructure including WAN, LAN, Desktops, National Data Center of EPA, 2) Cyber-security program, and 3) compliance and governance activities under the Clinger Cohen Act and FISMA. He oversaw policy and guidance development, research, adoption and implementation of new technologies and standards, and was responsible for the Agency IT services acquisition strategy.
- He has a combined 30 years of local, state and federal government experience. In jobs relevant to HUD's mission, he ran a local Community Action Agency's Meals on Wheels program, managed a Section 8 referral program, and the Solar Bank and home weatherization programs for the state of Missouri.
- Mr. Day is also an Adjunct Professor of Information Management in the Public Policy Masters Program of the Public and International Affairs Department at George Mason University (1999 - Present).

Cost for dinner is $25.00 per person if reservations are made by the deadline, $30 if otherwise.
