Quality Management versus Project Management

Short Narrative/Description:

• Quality Management and Project Management – Two Sides of the Same Coin
• Two conflicting viewpoints exist in the business world. First, quality management is a small, add-on portion of project management. Second, quality management is a fundamental building block without which project management cannot exist.
• In this presentation, Ms. Eaves will discuss how quality management and project management are so similar that they can be considered to be two sides of the same coin. Neither one is superior, and they are both essential components of the other.

Speaker Background:

Kathy Eaves has over thirty years experience in managing diverse workgroups. She holds ASQ certifications as a Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence and a Certified Quality Auditor. She also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate from the Project Management Institute. As a senior member of ASQ, she values application of quality principles throughout personal and professional activities. She serves ASQ Section 0511 as the Certification Chair and Chief Proctor for ASQ certification exams.
