Quality Management System in Engineering Practice

Short Narrative/Description:

The broad principles of a Quality Management System will be discussed along with application to engineering Ð in particularly Bridge Analysis and Design. Facets from Industry Practice to Standard of Care will be surveyed along with discussion on Quality, Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Aspects of risk management will be presented as well as QC tools including computer software validation, constructability reviews and technical peer reviews.

Speaker Background:

Shane R. Beabes, P.E. is a licensed Professional Engineer practicing in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Bridge Analysis and Design. He is an Associate Vice President and Bridge Technical Leader for AECOM Ð a global consulting firm. Shane has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Engineering from The University of Maryland. Over his 23-year career, he has managed a multitude of projects with varying degrees of complexity. Mr. Beabes is a contributing author to five national bridge guidelines, is the Chair for a national committee on the analysis of steel bridges and is an author of numerous papers and presentations.

Dinner Location:

PJ SKIDOOS is located in Fairfax City on Fairfax Boulevard between Rt 123 and Fairfax Circle, just north of Fairfax High School. We are offering the choice of three entrees, be sure to review the menu and then complete the reservation form to indicate which entree you would like.

Reservations: Cost for dinner is $30.00 per person if reservations are made by the deadline (the Friday before the meeting), $35 if otherwise. There is no charge to attend for the presentation only. To register with or without dinner please use our on line reservation form which can be used up to the Sunday before the meeting. If you wish to make a reservation after the Sunday before the meeting or your plans change, please contact dba16@asq0511.org, and let us know.
